Design Cottage Close to Icelandic Countryside & Reykjavik

Step into one of the oldest homes in town, dating from 1884. Curated by the owners of the design studio Reykjavík Trading Co., The Garden Cottage has been completely remodeled to provide a unique feeling, with a lot of the furniture handmade or meticulously crafted and selected from their travels to California, Scandinavia & Mexico. The land behind The Garden Cottage is home to their designed greenhouse, communal garden, chickens and their most recent addition, The Shed which is their workshop / shop where you can visit for a coffee, buy pieces or see their process of making objects. Curated by the owners & designers of Reykjavík Trading Co. (an Icelandic / California homeware company) the Garden Cottage is their first project of creating a home space for guests to experience a unique & cozy feeling while visiting Iceland. The bottom floor of the 1884 built home has been completely remodeled for guests. Everything in the home has been either made by hand by R.T.Co. or selected from their collection of preferred products & appliances. Anthony Bacigalupo & Ýr Káradóttir, the owners of The Garden Cottage, live & work in the separate upper part of the historic home & their R.T.Co. workshop is located in the back of the garden for guests to visit, learn about the pieces being crafted, or just to have a cup of coffee. We wanted to create a place for guests to experience "slow living" & create a special stay. Having designed spaces for hotels, cafes, bars we decided to put our inspiration & collection into this project & build something completely one-of-a-kind in Iceland. The Garden Cottage includes: - Fresh free-range eggs from the hens in garden - Bosch & Smeg appliances - Aeropress & grinder for coffee - Art pieces by a selection of Icelandic artists - Simple white noise machines with USB charging ports - King & Queen-sized Simba mattress with luxury down pillows & duvets - Wifi & Bluetooth Speaker - Backyard Filson horseshoe set - Weber Smokey Joe BBQ - Yoga mat upon request - Conveniently located across the road from the town's main bus terminal which will take you to Reykjavík & beyond For families: - Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair & Stokke cradle upon request - Bugaboo stroller upon request - BloomBaby lounger chair upon request Note: By law Iceland is requiring all Airbnb's to register their property legally to keep quality, standards & ethics high. Our registration number is HG-00003324 Our guests have the whole bottom house to themselves, with a selection of curated magazines, books & products from R.T.Co. & other designers. The home was built in 1884 & we have been remodeling & bringing back the style it once was but also bringing back the garden & farm style that was once so prominent back in the day. We believe in hospitality to the fullest which sadly doesn't exist anymore in places. Since we live on the property we can answer any questions you have or have you in for a coffee if you need help deciding your journey in Iceland. The cottage is in the oldest part of Hafnarfjörður, a small harbor town. There are great farm-to-table restaurants, bakeries, live music, artist studios and swimming pools nearby. It’s conveniently located across the road from the town’s bus terminal. The house has three stories but is broken into two flats- we live on the upper floors with our children with separate driveway and front door- but we are here for anything you need or to have a coffee in the greenhouse! Our little town can be easily walked around & explored. Shuttle stops for airport & Blue Lagoon are 3 minutes walk next to the ocean & the bus terminal into Reykjavík is close as well.

Superb city center location

One bedroom cosy apartment in the heart of the city. Close to restaurants,bars,cafés,shops ,the landmark church and the main bus station. The apartment is 65 m2 apartment and it consists of an open plan kitchen ,living room and bedroom.The bedroom has one king size bed that can be pulled apart,living room with a new sofabed that can sleep 2 people.The bathroom is spacious with a bathtub and a shower. The apartment has a private entrance and is on second floor in a friendly 2 apartment house.

Cosy private home with a jacuzzi on a private deck

Cosy terraced house with a private entrance and car parking. 2 bedrooms, high ceilings, small deck with a jacuzzi powered by Icelandic hot water. 10 min drive from Keflavik International Airport/ 40 min drive from house to Reykjavik Capital. 1st bedroom has a King size bed and 2nd bedroom has a queen size bed, there is also a cot for a toddler + an inflatable mattress for a 5th pers upon request. Peaceful surroundings and walkways close to the ocean side where you can sometimes spot whales.

Family friendly house, 6KM from the airport

A cosy 3 bedroom house in a peaceful area near the airport. Only 10 minute walk to the Viking museum, a walking phat that overlooks the ocean and several playgrounds for kids and swimmingpools. Excellent location as it takes only 15 minutes to drive to the Blue lagoon and to the walking path to see the volcano, and 40 minutes to Reykjavík. The airport is only in 6KM distance. A perfect place to stay with your family or friends and explore everything that Reykjanes has to offer. Free wifi.

An Old Farmhouse in the City

The house at Melbær is an old farm in the middle of the city. Originally built in 1928, it first served as a factory before becoming a farm house. Later, it was transformed into a grandiose home. The same family has owned the house since 1973. The place is perfectly located in the 108 district, which is known for its green areas. It´s a short walking distance away from the Fossvogur and Elliðaárdalur valleys and can easily be reached from Miklabraut highway. Free parking. (HG-00005257)

Himri the mountain villa

Stunning villa with amazing 360 views, great location close to the golden circle and the capital region (only 30 min drive). The villa has 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and sleeps 10 people. Himri is very spacious (300 sqm) and has everything you could wish for - a fully equipped gym and game room, a sauna and a hot tub. We just bought the villa and just finished a complete renovation. Beautiful new cottage in downtown Reykjavik

Beautiful small cottage in the downtown area of Reykjavik. The place was completely renovated and refurnished in 2017. There are two single beds which can easily be combined into a large bed for a couple. Great location just a few minutes walk from the main restaurants, shops, city hall, Reykjavik harbour and Harpa concert hall. Very close to public transportations and pick-up locations for tours.
