This is a house with a superb view overlooking Lake Nojiri. There are several ski slopes (Myoko, Kurohime, and Masao), about 15-20 minutes away, making it a perfect base for winter sports. Enjoy a wood-burning sauna and a stunning water bath. There are no private houses around, so you can also watch music and movies with loud noise. Because it is a house nestled deep in the mountains, we do our best, but there are insects during the warmer months.It snows a lot in winter.In autumn, the leaves are dancing. You must also adjust the fire in the wood stove yourself. It's never an easy home to live in, but with a great view and experience. There is a full counter kitchen with stunning views and condiments and cookers so you can enjoy cooking.(No BBQ equipment)

The guest house is 15 minutes' walk from kawaguchiko station and about 3 minutes' walk from the convenience store. We are a two-story apartment with air conditioning and no smoking in all houses. Located in the alley, quiet and comfortable, you can see Mount Fuji when you go out. We have renovated a small wooden hut by woods. It stands on a plateau area over 1,000m elevation. When I was a child, my one of a dream was building my secret place like this by myself. And the dream had come true at last! I hope you remember your childhood memory and feel wooden warmth by handmade in beautiful nature. This is a best area for hiking in forests and visiting beautiful lakes. The hut is good size to stay for a couple and a family or single.

風に､音に､緑に､湖に､太陽に､雲に､星に､月に､雨に､土に､雪に､そしてこの山荘にとけるようにくつろいでいただきたいという思いで「とけとけ山荘」と命名致しました。グラフィックテザイン、彫刻、家具づくりを学び、ジュエリーデザイナーとして活動するオーナーが、建物、外構、インテリアまでほぼ全てデザインし、一部施工も致しました。いやいや、結構施工いたしました笑。外観は温もりのある黒。焼杉という、杉を焼いた材料を真鍮の釘で留めています。西の地域で使用される伝統技法の珍しい外観です。家具職人だった経験を生かし、室内の欄間やドアの小窓、照明、キッチンバックカウンター、棚、看板などなど無垢の木を使い自作致しました。また古道具をリメイク、リサイズしたものもあり、ここにしかないものがたくさんあります。床や階段は無垢の杉板、壁はドライウォールというアメリカの技法を使った塗り壁で、こちらも職人さんに手伝っていただきながらの自主施工です。温もりのある、新しいようなどこか懐かしいような落ち着く空間を目指しました。
