Chic, Cottage-Style House on Balboa Island

The house was renovated with all new appliances and decor, but the chic cottage feeling reminds you that you are on the charming Island of Balboa, Many of our repeat visitors are 3 generation families. the grandparents, children and grandchildren, who love their "trundle room". The sand and bay are just steps away. Bikes, SUPs, kayaks, beach chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, games, for both inside and out. We even have a baby pool to use on the patio for little ones. Also a port a crib and high chair if needed. There is a tenant in back who will share the W/D in the garage, but the rest of the property and equipment is yours. I usually meet the guests on arrival to show them around and of course to meet them. I live just a few miles away, so am available if they havr questions, The home is situated on Balboa Island, a little-known gem. Main Street, which is just 2 blocks away, has unique shops and several restaurants. The ferry to Newport Beach is just a short walk from the house. Kayak, bike, paddle board, or simply relax on the beach. Walking or biking are the easiest ways to navigate the Island! We have a garage for your use, and Fashion Island and Newport Beach are close by. Balboa is a lovely little community and some of our neighbors live there year round, so we ask our guests to respect that the houses are close by, and to bring their visiting inside at 10 on weekdays and 11 on the weekends.

Private room is separate, secure and quiet-so no access to main house is available. However, host family is on-site to answer any questions and make your stay as comfortable and easy as possible. Hosts are long-time area residents who have owned and lived in this home for over 10 years. A directory of local shopping and restaurants is provided, along with complimentary wi-fi and cable TV. The home is in a unique and desirable location and offers easy access to village life and the beach from a quiet residential neighborhood. It boasts access to city parks, tennis courts, golf, and trails for biking and hiking all nearby. Wonderful beach front property for families - Blocks from Balboa Pier, Ferry, & Boating. Enjoy spectacular Newport; one on-site parking space in back. Rental is the First floor 4 bed, 2bath of duplex. Our family has enjoyed renting for 20 plus years as guest families enjoy beach house, sand toys, BBQ, patio and surf. Upstairs unit shares main/exterior entrance; guest have locked separate inner door. Thoughtful renters - no partiers please. 9 pm quiet. (SLP13141 - includes 10% City Resort Fee)

Come relax in your own private studio on Balboa Island. Queen size bed and pull out sofa bed provide plenty of room for all of your sleeping needs, as well as a mini fridge, microwave, and Keurig for your convenience. The main street of Balboa Island has everything you would need during your visit including shops, restaurants, market, The Village Inn bar, bike rentals, and many sweet tooth favorites like Dad's Donuts and Sugar 'n Spice serving their famous frozen bananas and Balboa Bars.

Historic "Speak Easy" Cottage (circa 1923)

Vintage beach cottage w/ modern-day conveniences (central heat & A/C), Apple TV, DVD, vintage appliances, incl. dishwasher) on the quiet-end of Balboa Island; tree-lined street, steps to the beaches on South Bayfront; two blocks to Balboa Island ferry and market. Cottage was built in 1923 and served as a "Speak Easy" (a bar during the prohibition era ) with many famous actors, musicians, singers patronizing the site (John Wayne, James Cagney & Humphrey Bogart) just to name a few.

Welcome to "Grammy's house" on Grand Canal. Step out your front door and take a house kayak or paddle board for a spin. If you walk out the back door, you're a few feet away from Balboa's main avenue with restaurants, shops, and most importantly, Dad's frozen banana stand. If you want to go farther, take the beach cruisers in the garage around the island or to Newport on the Balboa Ferry. Better yet, settle in and relax on the porch overlooking the water. Modern & Contemporary LARGE 2 bed, 2 bath bungalow

Great 2 bedroom 2 bath, beach cottage with a modern contemporary flare. Open concept to allow a spacious feel with all the amenities to feel at home. This unit was completely gutted and redone, so any reviews prior to May 2022 were about the older unit prior to the major remodel.
