In this experience, we will pick you up at your place* and take you to visit the most important spots in the city. We will start visiting Christ the Redeemer Statue first thing, so we can avoid lines and get the best shots for your photos**; next, the neighborhood of Santa Teresa, an artistic zone with it's exclusive tram and then the Selarón Staircase, one of the most famous touristic spots of Rio. We will start the trail at the gate of sector C of Tijuca National Park, the largest urban forest in the world. Our circuit passes through the main viewpoints of Pedra da Gávea, the main historical sites and the famous gorge of Heaven. Beyond all the beauty of rainforest fauna and flora. We will hike to Rio's tallest peak (1.025m) at Pedra Branca State Park through official trails under the forest canopy. The hike is long and very difficult (16km total) but the effort to reach the summit of the city is worth it if you are fit and we will enjoy an amazing natural pool in the end. This experience is for more adventurous travellers, it is not a family hike/sightseeing tour. We will spend hours in beautiful forest and mountain environments and no climbing is involved. The Pedra Branca State Park is three times the size of Tijuca National Park and is the largest urban forest in the country. It is located 50km away from Zona Sul and is internationally known as IBA (Important Bird and Biodiversity Area). This experience brings a genuine feeling of conquest at the end of the day by overcoming a very challenging trail. I will share my knowledge about the ecosystem and the territory's history, deeply linked with the slave period in Brazil. We meet at 7AM and take the car towards Jacarepaguá (west zone). We start our hike at 8:00AM. We hike for 8km (4:00 hours) to reach the Pedra Branca summit. There are at least two potable water sources on the way. We will use the same route on our return and will enjoy a freshwater natural pool. Our hike ends around 4:30PM We return to zona sul by car and will arrive at Botafogo around 5:30PM, depending on traffic condition
