On a typical lesson day we meet in the morning at one of Palermo’s oldest markets, shop around for any items we will need for the lesson and then stroll to the air-conditioned kitchen in The Sicilian Pantry cookery school where we prepare a 4 course Sicilian meal, learning the techniques and tricks needed to recreate it when you return home. Meals are made up of a starter, pasta course, main course and desert (changes can be made for individuals with specific dietary requirements where appropriate). After the lesson we can sit down together to enjoy the fruits of our labour along with a selection of Sicilian wines rounded off with some homemade liqueurs and coffee. We believe that the true expression of Sicilian cuisine comes from the quality of its fresh seasonal produce so we strive to always ensure that we have the best of what Sicily has to offer in order to share this with our guests. This is an entertaining and informative day out, recommended for cooks of all levels. A 3-hour walking tour around Catania's fish market and alleyways. During the walk, we will take you to our favorite street stalls and family-run deli shops to sample the best daily selection of local street food such as the Arancino, the Cipollina, some challenging samples, and much more :) We offer our foodies only seasonal and traditional foods, no touristy stuff! The fish market is an authentic open-air theater. During the MORNING TOUR, we will spend some time checking out the food market stalls, talking about Sicilian cuisine, and eating some fish :) During the NIGHT TOUR, we'll walk you to the old district of Civita to show you some cool graffiti and enjoy the most authentic Catanese street spirit! This tour has been designed for street foodies and curious travelers. Not only food! We will show you some historical attractions and, when accessible, a hidden lava tunnel. Since this is a small group tour, you will be able to interact with us at any time asking all kinds of questions. We present Catania the way it is, with its lights and shadows. We'll organize excursions on Etna, the most active and highest volcano in Europe. The tour includes: pick-up with my Minivan at 8.30 am from Catania center to strategic points such as Central Station, Piazza Alcalà, Piazza Stesicoro, Piazza Borgo. We'll visit a lava flow cave with helmets and torches. We'll do a hiking of 3 h, crossing volcanic desert environments, craters, Valle del Bove and the different mountain colors. The hike is about 5-6 km from 1800 meters above sea level to 2300/2400 meters. Lunch is packed ,but along the drive up we'll stop in Trecastagni ( a Etna Village) where could we buy sandwiches with typical Sicilian dishes like caponata and parmigiana. We'll drop off to Catania around 3.30pm.

This is a sailing adventure focused on respect for nature, sustainable lifestyle and knowledge of navigation. An exciting sport activity, rich of new experiences and discoveries. The sailboat is fully equipped and meets all the standards of comfort and safety. First we meet 15 minutes before the boat tour, generally at the Caffe del Porto. Once embarked, we begin by introducing you to the bases of sailing, winds and the ocean. Set sail from the Club Nautico Catania, we open the sail and begin to cruise along the volcanic coast of Catania going with the winds, on the horizon we will see the Island of the Cyclops, the place where Etna was born. All the members of the tour will help to steer, to manage the sail and to sport activities. In the meantime you will learn the sailing techniques on board we prepare the aperitif. So let's the party starts and altogether we cheers with a glass of prosecco. Last but not least, you will have the opportunity to bath or to swim near the Grotta di Ulisse or the Riviera dei Ciclopi. This is a perfect first experience on a sailboat because in 3 hours you enjoy the vibe of the sail that allow you to decide to return for a longer experience, even the next day. We will stop in front of monuments, memorials and shops, each is connected with a particular aspect of our story. Sometimes a small detail, that seems unsignificant at first glance, has a story behind it that is worth to be told. An example: Addiopizzo stickers on the shops windows we will see along the walking tour. They belongs to shopkeepers who have said NO to the protection money! Excursion on Mount Etna by jeep and trekking to visit craters, caves and the last eruption of 2002 up to the authorized quotas based on volcanic activity. We start from the Hotel if located in the town of Zafferana etnea or from our meeting point with comfortable 4×4 jeep o minivan , in a north-easterly direction, after a couple of km we will stop inside the National Park accessible by authorized guide, because there are about 45 craters. After a walk of about 40 minutes we will visit 5 craters, one of which is still open and you can see the real size of a crater. In this area we will observe all types of lava, minerals, volcanic desert and pioneer plants of our volcano. After visiting the craters at altitude, with our jeep we will make 2 km of off-road vehicles to discover the last big eruption,that destroyed the old tourist center. Finally with helmets and lamps provided by us we will visit the small craters inside (cave) an expansion chamber and a fracture, which divides Etna into 2 parts, (moves 14 millimeters a year) The visit will be carried out in areas of volcanological and scientific interest ,with an expert and qualified guide. Your hiking adventure starts from the info point Ashàra located in Piazza San Vincenzo. Departure scheduled about 2 hours before sunset to admire the spectacular beauty along the side of Sciara del Fuoco and enjoy the typical Strombolian explosions. After a briefing, the hike will begin through a nature trail that will lead us up to 400mt ( maximum limit allowed by the authorities to ensure maximum safety), excellent observation point of the summit craters and Sciara del Fuoco. During the trekking we will make some intermediate breaks to enjoy the view, we will visit the old island cemetery, we will cross the typical Mediterranean scrubs, accompanied by the constant view of Strombolicchio. Once reached the Sciara del Fuoco, we will stop to admire the wonderful sunset that colors the Aeolian archipelago red and the spectacular "strombolian" activity with its explosions that shine in the night sky. Return downhill in the dark equipped with torches to the starting point through the typical reeds of the island and the old mule track Duration of the excursion about 5 hours

We'll discover the unique nature and the geology of the Mt. Etna visiting the volcano up to the extinct craters at 2000 meters. On board of our vehicle scenic driving from the beach level up to the extinct craters, following an itinerary off the beaten road, with the visit of the most important point of interest along the way up. We will complete our experince with a guided and easy trekking around the extinct craters, to understand this human friendly volcano, enjoying an almost lunar landscape. Let me open the old gate of our historic family mill, a museum of local rural tradition. It's one of the stories of Sant'Ambrogio, a small village, where you will admire enchanting cliffs over the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Rocca di Cefalù and take great photos of the green and blue nuances. I'll be happy to share my little world with you, where I relive childhood memories through the stories of my father's family. The experience in our mill will allow you to learn about the Sicilian olive heritage, based on a thousand-year history of olive trees, of numerous varieties of cultivation that give a strong identity to the territory and the oil obtained. Some photo trails document the collection of olives in the low Madonie mountains, the activity in our mill till 1990, and the vegetation stages of the plants throughout the year. After your visit, you will be guided on a sensory tasting tour of three Sicilian extra virgin olive oils to discover their peculiarities. The experience ends with enjoying a Sicilian farmer's aperitivo, sitting at the panoramic terrace of the village in good weather.. I'll suggest some tips for a perfect Mediterranean-style aperitif.
