Multnomah Falls and other waterfalls and vistas of the Columbia Gorge are astonishing icons of geology, the sort that have inspired mythology and lore of warriors, gods and passions. We will drive out in our vans to meet the tallest waterfall in the state, and then drive to a few of the shorter but even more stunning ones, too; falls which could only be the daughters and sons of legend. In this half-day experience, we will explore wonders with some short hikes (totaling less than 2.5 miles/4 km) and visits to overlooks and vistas that will have you gasping in awe. While Multnomah Falls and its iconic Benson Bridge are together the most-visited tourist attraction in the Portland area, they are only a part of our experience. We will meet at our shop in inner SE Portland, where we'll ride in our comfortable Sprinter and Transit vans to the nearby gorge. Depending on weather conditions, we will visit a few small hidden waterfalls and spectacular plunge-style falls whose columnar basalt has us learning words for "amazing" in other languages. We'll also tell you stories, geology, botany and oft-repeated tales of pioneers and road-builders, but also the old stories we've learned, of gods and wild spirits and about the oldest North American civilization, forever altered by “manifest destiny." This half day tour is a combination of a moderate 2-hour hike (a few inclines for five minutes) to the Twin Falls close up and a visit to the famous Snoqualmie Falls. I will pick you up in downtown Seattle and drive eastward for about 30 minutes until we arrive at the trailhead. We will hike in old growth forest along Snoqualmie River to Twin Falls and the Upper Falls (1.3 miles), which is a beautiful cascade of waterfalls. After the hike we will drive through North Bend, where the diner from the popular tv show "Twin Peaks" is located and through the historic logging town. Snoqualmie. The locomotives of the time are still on the railroad tracks and the old depot from the year 1890 is in use till this day. We stop to view the Snoqualmie Falls of 270 feet - followed by driving along Borst Lake, where Mount Si is reflected in the often still lake - and then drive back to downtown Seattle.

We will begin at the red barn where you will learn about this 12 acre sanctuary and the stories behind the 100+ rescue farm animals living on it. From there we will explore three different pastures that include horses, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, dogs, cats and a goose. While you are here we are thrilled to guide you through an up-close experience with all of these amazing creatures while they roam freely. Many of these animals will walk right up to you to take a snack from your hand or allow you take a close-up photo with them! We will teach you how to milk a cow. *At the beginning we allow you time to spend with the animals. Petting, brushing, or just hanging out with them. *Next we take you through what we feed our animals and how we care for them. We can talk about what goes into the cleanliness of the process and getting everything ready. *We will then go through the experience of milking the cow (whether by hand or with the machine, you decide). Allowing you to do as much of the work as you feel comfortable with. *Afterwards we will strain the milk and get it cooled and clean up. *Before you leave we will give you the opportunity to taste any of the products from our farm with the option to purchase milk at a 50% discount. *Congrats! You will have milked a cow!

While visiting the artist's studio, you learn the process of blowing glass, and basic glassblowing techniques including taking a gather, marvering, blow'n-cap, and shaping glass. The workshop is very hands-on, focused on the process instead of the final product. With experienced glass artists, you make 2 to 3 small objects such as a paperweight, ornament/float, and/or drinking glass, to take home. Glassblowing is a team work. We strongly recommend to experience this with another person. If you are solo, you may still book a spot. However, the single booker should expect to finish earlier. Best to wear a cotton top and cotton pants. Open-toed shoes are not allowed. Please bring a pair of sunglasses with you. Be prepared to be hot and sweaty, and to have fun! BYOB if you like. We'll begin with an in-depth tour of our Past Worlds gallery and end with a behind-the-scenes visit inside our Paleo Lab. In the gallery, we will talk about dinosaurs found in Utah (some known exclusively from our own collections) and explore the ecosystems and adaptations that make these animals so fascinating. Inside the Paleo Lab, we will get a sneak peek at the projects that our paleontology volunteers are working on and learn about the techniques used to prepare our most recent discoveries. The tour is for adults and teens 13 years or older. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Maximum number of participants is 10. Admission is complementary with purchase of the experience. Admission fees cannot be deducted from the package price. Tour length is approximately 2 hours or so, depending on group discussions. Face masks are optional and not required.

Do something incredibly unique, climb huge trees 100-200 ft tall, including some rare old-growth trees. Explore and learn about unique ecosystem and wildlife of trees. Once you reach the top of the canopy, enjoy an incredible view of ocean, mountains, and wildlife including bald eagles. Great for groups, teams, and team-building too! A fly rod is built in the same way that bamboo grows. From the bottom, or butt, to the tip. You will remove a node from a 12' culm of Tonkin bamboo, using a small hack saw, as the first step in seeing how a custom 8' node-less fly rod is made. Then you will split one of 72 splints needed to form the tip or butt of the rod with a hammer and knife. You will scarf one splint to shape it for gluing. Fancy planing, shaping the cork handle, and silk wrapping will be demonstrated along with the final varnish dip. At the end of the class you are invited to cast a variety of rods that I have made with a casting lesson on the "green river" of my lawn. In 2 hours you will see how the rod is made but you will not build a completed rod -- my first rod took me 100 hours. Other things to note Wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. If you have a favorite fly reel that you want to try on a finished rod bring it along.

This tour combines two of Southern Utah's most popular activities: exploring scenic slot canyons and horseback riding. First we will climb into the saddle at the stables and conduct a brief riding lesson for the inexperienced riders. No need to worry if you are a beginner, we have years of experience and reserve the best trained horses for our guests. Our ride will take us to the mouth of a beautiful slot canyon where we will dismount and walk a short distance into the canyon. This incredible sandstone formation is very narrow with walls towering several hundred feet high on either side. East Zion is the home to world class slot canyons that can be found nowhere else! Following this stop, riders will again get in the saddle and ride back to the starting point. You will be led by a local guide with years of horse riding experience that will also share the rich cowboy history of small town Orderville that continues to live on today. Tours will resume in June 2024. (Note, these are not sleep-overs) Get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of Sanctuary life and the wildcats we care for. This is a unique opportunity to learn about a true Sanctuary. Because we aren't a zoo, you'll see the animals in a relaxed, peaceful setting, unlike anything you've experienced before. Included in the tour you'll see lions, tigers, cheetahs, bobcats, servals, caracals, hybrid and domestic cats and our farm animal rescues. Tours are limited to four people maximum and two people MINIMUM with no children under the age of fourteen. (That allows us to provide a personal experience without adding stress to the wildcats. You'll hear the heartbreaking stories, meet the animals and see their personalities. *Please note, tours are not available for a single guest, the minimum is two people or tours do not happen. Walking tours run for about two hours. We have golf carts available as needed. Please dress for the weather and no open-toe shoes. Tours must have at least two people and no more than four. There is no contact between guests and animals, but you will have the opportunity to see them up close and personal for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Learn more animal facts as you feed and learn basic care and grooming of these hairy coo’s! The tour is aprox 90 min at The Grand Ranch, Our family farm in Kanarraville, Utah. To begin the off-road tour, I will meet guests at our designated Deschutes NF meeting location, just outside of Sunriver, Or. After sizing up helmets and presenting a safety & operational tutorial the guests will be ready to set off. This is a hands on experience and guests will have their own 2024 Polaris XP 1000 to drive or ride in with their group of up to 4 guests per ATV. (Reservations with 1 - 4 guests = (1) 4-seater ATV & 5 - 7 guests = (2) 4-seater ATVs.) The tour begins with some exciting Ponderosa Pine forest trails that wind through the Deschutes National Forest. As are guests drive the machines, they will be able to enjoy the local fauna and flora in this unique forest setting. We will then arrive on the hidden lava flows that were created nearly 8000 years ago from Paulina Mountain, a local shield volcano. At the lava flow, guests will have the rare opportunity to hike on petrified lava formations and appreciate the dramatic landscapes that were formed when flowing. The adventure continues on as the tours climbs higher and higher through the high desert surrounding and ending up on top of Sugar Pine Butt. From this breathtaking viewpoint the guests will be able to soak in a 360 panoramic vista of the entire region. **Please arrive 15 minutes begin tour start time Your Lava Run tour begins at our trailhead location just off of HWY 97 south of Sunriver.

We start the night meeting your ViP host at Mandalay Bay at 9:30pm. Your Vip host will escort you and your party directly into the 1st club while by-passing the wait in line. Guests will be given ample time to pet, feed and interact with our friendly animals in a beautiful, scenic setting at the foot of Blossom Peak. We have many horses that would love a grooming and treats. Pet and hold our friendly chickens. Our goats love attention and will enjoy a little play time or just a few cuddles and treats. We even have cows that loves a scratch behind the ears or to sit in your lap. Occasionally, we have baby animals that might need bottle feeding or extra care (Currently have bottle baby goats!! 02/24). We hope you leave with lots of pictures, smiles, and a love for our animals. We do our best to make this experience as enjoyable as possible for all ages! All proceeds go directly to our animals care. Please think twice before booking if you do not enjoy close encounters with animals. We have a hand washing station for the end of your visit. No restrooms available. No pets. Closed toe shoes required. Horseback riding on property available upon request.

It's a picnic, but with alpacas! Yup, you heard right, an Alpaca Picnic. We'll set you up at your own picnic table (and picnic blanket!) in one of our pastures with a picnic basket filled with food and drink and all the fixins. You'll get to sit, drink, eat & be merry while surrounded by a pack of friendly alpacas. We'll even leave you with some alpaca food. Some will come up as curious about you as you are about them. Some won't even acknowledge your existence. But the one thing that is guaranteed is that ALL of them will put smiles on your face that you may never be able to wipe. I mean, c'mon...an alpaca picnic! You know you want to... Please be aware when you book the price is 150 per adult, 50 per child, so make sure to pick how many people will be coming so that we prepare enough food for everyone. The $175 price is if just one person is booking for a solo experience. The best experience in Bend is great for couples, families, groups, & team-building! Also just to note, while they're adorable year round, if you're looking to picnic during maximum floof, consider booking before they are sheared in mid-May, at which point they'll look goofy aliens for a few months. With the majestic Absaroka Mountains as your backdrop, learn about the land’s original inhabitants, the Crow tribe, and the local ecosystem. Be sure to bring your binoculars – and camera! – as you may have the unique opportunity to view some of Montana’s natural inhabitants, including mule deer, golden eagles, fox, elk, and more! It is the Certified Horsemanship Association’s recommendation that the weight of the rider does not exceed 20% of the weight of the horse. We can accommodate a maximum weight of 220 pounds. We ask that you meet at the Lodge 15 minutes prior to the start of the ride so that you can be given safety instructions. Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Also bring a water bottle and your sense of adventure! Finally, this trail ride is completely dependent upon weather conditions. Amongst the Bison we'll watch for coyote, bobcat, antelope, porcupine, big-horn sheep, mule deer and if the season is right up to 200,000 migratory birds.
