Escape to a Sunny Apartment in a Quiet D.C. Suburb

Living Room amenities include a Smart TV and an Amazon Fire TV Stick. Fully equipped kitchen and cooking essentials. Lovely patio with seating area and herb garden. Comfortable bed and quality linens. Keurig coffee maker with coffee and tea provided. You have your own private entrance and patio area on an entire different side of the house so your experience can be as private as you like. The entire apartment which includes: washer/dryer, fully equipped kitchen and patio area. Your host will be available for anything you need during your stay. My daughter/co-host, Bernadette, a young D.C. professional, can also answer any questions about the D.C. area, restaurants and other cool places to go. The apartment is in a quiet suburban neighborhood with easy access to the Washington area. It's a short walk to the FDA. Downtown Silver Spring is nearby, with its many restaurants, bars, Fillmore music venue, Ellsworth Dog Park, and a movie theater. The National Archives, University of Maryland College Park and UMUC are just few miles away. A Ride-On bus stop is located on the same block as the apartment. A Metro bus stop is 5 minute walk. Silver Spring Metro Station is about 4 miles away. There are a few parking garages at the Silver Spring Metro Station if you choose to drive there and then hop on the metro. Free parking on weekends and holidays at all Montgomery County Parking garages (some lots and street parking may require payment on Saturday). You could also Uber/Lyft to the metro station or all the way into the city (great option esp if you're splitting fare).

Large, sunny one bedroom apartment, with private entrance, beautifully decorated, gas fireplace and 50" flat screen TV and WiFi. Large bedroom w/ king bed, walk-in closet. Full kitchen w/all amenities. Guests can walk(30 min) or take bus (2 min walk to bus stop) to NIH, Walter Reed and/or metro. Fresh coffee and teas provided for entire stay. Breakfast items for first morning : cold cereal, fresh bagels and cream cheese, small containers of milk and OJ. One block from Rock Creek Park.

Private basement suite

Visit DC! Renovated basement w/ bedroom, en-suite bath, and kitchenette with private entrance available in residential Silver Spring. Home is one block to major bus lines, half a block to bike rental station, or 15 min walk/5 min bus ride to metro and is a quiet and safe but convenient location for your DC/ Silver Spring visit. UPDATE! Both metro stations near our home will be closed June- August 2024 due to purple line construction. Only bus service will be available for the summer.

NEWLY UPDATED: This spacious and surprisingly bright Bethesda half-basement is nestled in a quiet neighborhood only minutes from Walter Reed, NIH, and the metro. Large windows offer a view onto a patio bordered with hydrangeas and evergreens; the bedroom has a queen-sized bed, a Samsung smart TV, and a desk. The Kohler shower head in the bathroom offers firm pressure and the mini-fridge and microwave are on hand for snacks. Please note: There is no kitchen and no washer/dryer.

Recently renovated, large, one-bedroom basement apartment with a separate entrance, large dining and living area, bedroom, walk-in shower, and kitchenette. Please note, there are stairs to clime as place is in the basement (see photos). We have free street parking and easy access to public transportation. Groceries and restaurants are within a 5-minute walk. Downtown Silver Spring is less than 2 miles and 15-20 minutes drive is to NIH, UMD, Bethesda, FDA and downtown DC.

Quiet and close to everything, our basement in-law suite is a short walk to Rock Creek Park bike trails into DC, and a quick bus ride to the MARC train and White Flint or Wheaton Red Line Metro stops. Short drive to NIH and NSA, Bethesda, Silver Springs and Rockville, MD. Red line metro into DC! Please read entire description before booking!

Cozy basement apartment with kitchenette

Apartment is 2 blocks from Rock Creek Park with access to hiker biker trails and several different playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts. Roughly 2 miles to either the Wheaton or Grosvenor metro stops, or take a short ride on the 38 bus to Wheaton or White Flint metro. Close to lots of restaurants, bars and shopping.
