Built by the owners using macrocarpa timber grown on the property, it was intended to be a place where their grandchildren could enjoy sleepovers in the forest and afternoon adventures. Sweet bohemian cottage set in a lovely lush garden with fresh water stream dissecting the property. The beach is a 10minute walk from the cottage. Karekare was badly affected by Cyclone Gabrielle but our cottage has stood strong & unharmed & unchanged for the last 40years. KK environs & roads were badly damaged. Lone Kauri Rd will be closed for slip repairs from 8th April '24 There is no wifi & phone coverage can be patchy. Dogs welcome but let me know first.
