Lost wax ring workshop
In my workshop you will learn how to make a ring for the lost wax process. You will start by designing your ideas, then you will be given a segment of ring wax and proceed with carving. This is a wonderful way to achieve a silver ring without using the usual tools involved in traditional silver workshops. You will be greeted at my studio in The Fold, Bransford in the lovely Worcestershire countryside. After a short introduction to the lost wax process you'll sketch out a few designs and after transferring your design to your own wax piece you'll start carving it out. We will break for 30 minutes for refreshments after the first hour and then continue for another hour. This is a great opportunity to either come and have a fantastic day out with your friends, family or loved ones and experience an ancient craft in a wonderful environment. After you have created your ring it will be cast in silver, finished and polished - you will have a truly unique piece of jewellery which has been created by yourself! Other things to note Lunch can be bought in the cafe, otherwise you can bring your own. Refreshments will be provided. Group sizes are at a maximum of four with no minimum size. Please wear a face covering.
Malvern Hills cultural walks - Tolkien trail & Lewis loop
Legendary fantasy authors JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis were frequent visitors to the Malvern Hills and the distinctive landscape inspired many features of Middle Earth and Narnia, including the Giant's Cave from the Hobbit and the Victorian gas lamps from The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe. You'll choose between 2 routes, the Tolkien Trail & the Lewis Loop, both of which are outlined below. The Tolkien trail follows the main ridge south from the Wyche Cutting, over several summits to the Giants Cave which is said to have inspired Tolkien's first book, the Hobbit. The trail then returns north, with optional stops at the Malvern Hills Hotel and/or the Kettle Sings Cafe before ending where it began. The Lewis loop begins in Priory Park in Great Malvern and heads past Malvern College & Cherbourg House where Lewis went to school before pausing at the Lewis Memorial in Rosebank Gardens. Next it follows Narnia's gas lamps up Happy Valley past St. Ann's Well cafe to the summit of North Hill before dropping down to Alexandra Rd where Lewis's biographer George Sayers & composer Sir Edward Elgar lived. After passing Lewis & Tolkien's favourite pub The Unicorn Inn, the loop ends at Malvern Priory, home to what's believed to be the original gas lamp Whichever walk you choose, you'll hear tales of literary legends whilst savouring the most stunning views in the West Midlands.

I’ll tell you about how Bath was transformed from a small, dirty medieval city to the most socially important city outside London over a period of only 25 years. I can take supplementary photos throughout the tour for £35 these can be loaded direct to an iPhone or you can have the SD Card. Normally I take between 50 -70 shots for you to edit at home
