The Yellow House is a beautiful detached home with 5 bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms, lots of living space, a large garden near the town of Westport. The Westport Country Lodge is a boutique hotel, a mile away and has excellent food and a lively bar. The House is an ideal base for touring Achill, Connemara, Galway, and Mayo. It is family-friendly and a perfect setting for evening BBQ,s. There are lovely country walks nearby. Westport has lots of coffee shops, pubs, restaurants, cinema, & leisure centre.
The space
This wonderful architect-designed house is full of light and delightful features, tastefully decorated and furnished, large garden, and wonderful views of Croagh Patrick. Comfortably accommodates 10/11 people.The popular heritage town of Westport is less than 3.75 miles way. Voted the best place to live in Ireland Westport has lots to offer with pubs ,restaurants, hotels, cinema, leisure complex, live music, events festivals and lots of entertainment. It is on the Wild Atlantic Way . Attractions include the Greenway, Croagh Patrick and beaches like Old Head, Berthra.

The Yellow House is in Knockrooskey which is 3.75 miles from Westport on the Ballinrobe road (about 7 minutes). From Westport take the R330, you pass a school on the left, then a garage. Turn right opposite the garage, go 400 yards and the house is directly in front of you. You will see the limestone walls and large garden to the front.

The Yellow House is situated in a rural setting a few 100 yards off the main Ballinrobe /Westort Road.
Westport (3.75 miles) is a beautiful heritage town and has an array of hotels, restaurants, pubs, craft shops, galleries and cafes. Westport has a variety of beautiful, safe sandy beaches all within short driving distance Louisburgh and in Achill Island there are many beautiful beaches. Many of the beaches are EC blue flag winners including Bertra, Old Head and Carramore in Louisburg. Some of the best beaches are relatively uncrowded and make for an excellent day out for families of all ages. You can also enjoy a variety of water sports including kayaking, surfing, sailing and boat tours which are all just minutes away from Westport town.
Westport Country Lodge Hotel is a boutique hotel less than a mile from the Yellow House and has excellent food, a lively bar with music at weekends and beautiful views of Croagh Patrick Mountain. It is near the historic village of Aughagower, and a 7-minute drive from Westport town.
You will need a car to get around but the local hotel is only a short walk and if you decide to visit Westport at night, there are lots of taxis that you can pick up on the main street and taxi numbers are also available in the house.

I am originally from Westport and went to school in Knockroosky school which is very close to the Yellow House. I now live in Dublin with my wife Una. We have 3 grown-up children. We love Westport and try and visit as often as possible, my brothers and sisters live in the area. We like to holiday in Mayo and the West of Ireland.
