The space
Lisnabrin is a beautiful Georgian property, built in 1720 and renovated to a high standard. The Lisnabrin ethos is cosy country comfort combined with all the modern conveniences. From luxurious beds and linens, antique furniture and roaring log fires to fibre broadband, fun entertainment area and large hot tub with countryside views. Lisnabrin is the perfect venue for memorable gatherings of family and friends.

The house consists of six ensuite double bedrooms and one triple room. Three double ensuites on the 1st floor, three double ensuites and triple room on the 2nd floor (the triple room has the option of sharing the ensuite with bedroom 5 via a 'Jack & Jill' door). All uniquely furnished, some with four poster beds, all super comfy.

Reception rooms consist of the welcoming drawing room, the formal dining room, the cosy library, and fully equipped country kitchen. The adjoining Coach House wing provides a more relaxed area for entertaining. It boasts a vast oak dining table and unique bar. This area opens out onto the sunny BBQ courtyard terrace. The bar is a great place to chill and catch up by the log burning stove. Or enjoy a relaxing drink in the large hot tub (room for 10) - great to ease the muscles after those long country walks. The pool table, darts board and large screen TV mean there is something for everyone.

There is Fibre Broadband Wi-Fi throughout. A biomass boiler and solar technology ensure comfortable adjustable heating and instant hot water. Modern homegrown green energy - our Miscanthus biomass fuel is grown and harvested on the estate!

Outside, there is lots of space on the lawns for tennis, soccer or croquet. The large outdoor dining area is the perfect spot for summer evenings. The courtyard BBQ terrace has a coal and gas burner BBQ area. Visit the secret woodland area for fun on the swing, or kick back by the fire-pit for nights out under the stars.

Where you’ll be

County Cork, Ireland

Super family destination, well placed to visit Fota Wildlife Park, Leahy's Farm, Spike Island, Blarney Castle, Jameson Distillery Midleton, Beaches of Ardmore, Youghal or Ballycotton & The Waterford Greenway, just to name a few super days out.

We are located 20 minutes drive from Fermoy and the M8 motorway. Cork city is a 45 minute drive and the heritage town of Lismore is a 10 minute drive.

The Blackwater Valley is North Cork's hidden Gem. Renowned for fishing, hunting, walking and great food. Visitors are spoilt for choice, if you need a Gillie, a walking guide or recommendations for local horse trekking - please let us know, we would be delighted to help you enjoy this beautiful spot.

The kitchen should have all you need to dine-in but we do have some lovely local spots for eating out. Start your night off with a great pint at our local pub just 5 minutes walk from the house.

Lismore (10 minute Drive) is our local heritage town, home to the spectacular Lismore Castle, a wander through the gardens and a casual dinner in 'Foleys on the Mall' would be our personal favourite.

For gorgeous food in our prized coastal town of Ardmore (25 minute drive) try The White Horses Restaurant (no web site but they are rated on Tripadvisor) or a more formal setting and amazing waterfront scenery, the Michelin-star restaurant at The Cliff House Hotel, Ardmore.

Youghal (20 mins) is famous for it's seafood and Ahernes is top for food there.

The local area here is steeped in history and Lismore (10 mins away) is our local heritage town with a fantastic castle, you can visit the grounds there but the castle is restricted as the Lord and and Lady of Devonshire still use it as their family holiday home.

The Towers Walk in Lismore is lovely, a drive up to the Vee through Lismore is fantastic, a view of five counties from the top and lovely walk to a Corrie lake.

The beaches at Ardmore and Youghal are wonderful for walking, swimming & surfing.

The famous Ballymaloe Cookery school and restaurant are only 35 mins drive from us. Visit the pizza restaurant on a Saturday or wander around the beautiful grounds.

The Jameson Distillery in Midleton (25 mins drive) is a fascinating tour, followed by lunch in the Sage restaurant or The Farm Gate - amazing farm to plate dining.

Depending on what you are interested in there is lots to see and great places to eat.

Blarney Castle (about 50 mins drive from us) is a fascinating experience. Visitors must kiss the stone!!

Barryscourt Castle Midleton (30 mins away) is a really special visit, they have returned it to its original state and is a unique hands on experience of castle life in Ireland.

Bantry House is a really lovely visit, it is 2 hours drive away but the area and even the drive is spectacular.

Golf at Lismore (local course), Castlemartyr, Dungarvan (3 courses) or the world renowned Head of Kinsale, all great courses.

Kilkenny City is only 1.5 hours from us, a fortified city with amazing castle and medieval streets, worth a visit.

Please let us know if you would like any further information or we can book anything for you. Sightseeing and day trip itineraries can be arranged. Driver / Minibus transport available.

Richard, Niamh & their family settled in Co. Cork, taking on the rather daunting prospect of a Georgian Gem in need of TLC... but it was worth it!! With all the hard work done, we are delighted to open it's doors once more. Horses, dogs, skiing, entertaining, rugby, good food are the family pursuits. Our family motto would probably be 'life's too exciting to sleep in!!'
